Session 5: The Highlights

Session 5 was a week we’ll never forget!  Big laughs, new friendships and lasting memories.

Here are the highlights of session 5:
-This week was Space themed!  JFK was kidnapped by aliens, leading campers to collect gold and barter with the aliens to save Mr. President from the black hole.  Mission Accomplished.
-Apache and Navajo boated over to the sandbar during cabin activity time for a game of greasy watermelon.
-The blue and orange crew necks were all the rage in Blackfoot cabin.
-There were 13 Thunderbirds and 1 double Thunderbird!
-Aquatics camp successfully canoed down the White River.
-The Pendy socks have arrived in the trading post!
-Iroquois cabin celebrated Christmas in July, their stockings were hung in Nikana with care.
-Ropers and Wranglers created an obstacle course for their horses.

Tomorrow, our last session of campers will be here!
We’re ready for the best session 6 ever!
Hail Pendalouan

Session 4: The Highlights

Side effects of session 4 may include:
The longing to return to camp even though it’s only been a day.
A new found habit of making the bed.
An understanding of the impact created when we put others before ourselves.
Losing your voice due to enthusiastic cheering (especially the Green team)
Sudden urges to break out into camp songs, particularly before and after meals.
Continuing to rep your color wars team, face paint and all.

Oh, what a week!  Here are the highlights of session 4:
-All four teams gave 110%, but in the end it was Yellow who brought home the trophy- Respect.
-We had the biggest polar bear hall of fame so far this summer!
-The cabin culture this session was off the charts.  We had some extra camp magic with Navajo cabin of Witchcraft and Wizardry, a troop of boyscouts in Chippewa and the Hopi Hopineers with their covered wagon.
-For five campers it was their fifth year at camp.  Congratulations, Thunderbirds!
-The Green team earned the spirit stick; what they lacked in points they made up for in passion.
-The beautiful weather meant that there was never a dull moment at the waterfront.

Of course, in order to get the best highlights and stories, you’ll have to ask your camper.
See you tomorrow, session 5!
Hail Pendalouan

Session 3: The Highlights

After a week of family camp and Fourth of July festivities, we couldn’t wait for more campers to arrive.  Session 3 was a fantastic group of kids!  They came ready to have fun, make new friends and embody the spirit of Pendalouan.

Here are some of our favorite things from session 3:
-It was a bug’s life at Pendalouan and the stink bug was the biggest baddest bug of them all!  The campers worked together to stop the bad bugs from stealing all of camp’s food!  Mission accomplished.
-Our littlest campers, the bugs & bunks, were here this week!
-The weather brought a new element of fun to camp; puddle splashing and rain dancing.
-A fear of heights and feeling homesick were conquered.

And so much more!  Talk with your camper about their week at Pendalouan and hear the stories that only they can tell.

Who's ready for session 4!?
Hail Pendalouan

Session 2: The Highlights

Last Friday, our session 2 campers walked away tired but exhilarated, with experiences they will not soon forget.  Here’s a look at some of our favorite moments from session 2:

-Pendalouan played host to a handful of unexpected guests... Einstein and Davy Crockett to name a few.
-Our CIT’s graduated after 2 weeks of training, we look forward to having them back later this summer for their third week.
-Our Thursday performances were out of this world!
-It was a week full of bright smiles and a sense of community.
-Session 2 was the largest polar bear half of fame so far this summer!
-Camp was able to come together, fix the time machine, and with Einstein’s help, send everyone back home.

We hope everyone had an exciting 4th of July.
See you Sunday, session 4 campers!
