Here we go, our last Summer Staff bios! These three staff will have specialized roles at camp this summer. Some of them came to Pendalouan as campers, others will be joining the Camp family this year! Please join me in welcoming Kelly, Justin and Taylor... our last three staff members we'll be introducing here on the Camp Blog!

Hey everyone! My name is Kelly and I am so excited to be coming back to Pendalouan for my fourth summer on staff! I've spent my past year out at the University of Utah studying communications, hiking in the beautiful mountains and living the busy busy life of an Army cadet. I'm looking forward to being back at camp and working with the teens this summer! I can't wait to be back on the shores of Big Blue singing silly songs, swimming in the lake and making memories to last a lifetime. See you soon!

Hello Everyone! My name is Justin and I hail from the great state of Wisconsin! This will be my third summer back at Pendy and I absolutely can not wait! It has been far too long since I have seen the shores of Big Blue. This upcoming summer I will be working with the CIT's and LIT's as well as the other cabins and super excited and ready for the rainy cold spring to end and warm summer of FUN to begin! I'm looking forward to seeing all of you back at camp! Hail Pendalouan!

Hello! My name is Taylor. This will be my first summer at Camp Pendalouan. I am going to be a senior at Grand Valley State University next year and I am majoring in Documentary and Non-Fiction Film/Video. I really love to play music (Bass guitar, Acoustic Guitar, and Banjo are my favorites) and make videos/take pictures. I am very excited to join the Camp Pendalouan family! See you soon!

Meet the Summer 2014 Staff: Part 8

Our first week of Summer Camp is going swimmingly and despite some rain here and there, our campers are having a blast! For pictures from this week, check out our online photo album.

Editor's Update: We have received a flood of registrations in the last two weeks and our programs and session are starting to fill up. In fact, we already have waiting lists for future sessions. Click here to see which sessions are still available for overnight camp!

But we still have more staff to introduce! Here are some short bios for Jose, Zach, John, Madalynne and Seth! Enjoy!

Hey y’all! My name is Jose and this will be my 5th summer at Camp Pendalouan! I have recently finished my junior year at Grand Valley State University where I am studying Advertising and Public Relations. In my free time, I love to run, take photos, and do all things art! I am excited to spend another summer on the shores of Big Blue Lake, playing in the sand, and teaching some crafts! I can’t wait to meet all of you! It’s gonna be the best summer yet!

Greetings Everyone! I can't believe summer is already here, and I'm looking forward to getting into the Pendy routine. My name is Zach and this will be my first year on staff. I can't wait for Opening Campfires that brings the campers together and everything else that comes with a week of camp. Each year, I'm always impressed how many incredible campers and staff members I get to meet. I'm eager to make new friends and live it up this summer at the place I consider my second home!

My name is John! I go by both John and Flanagan. This will be my first year being a counselor at Pendalouan, but my eighth year at Camp in total. I am from a northern suburb of Chicago and am heading into my senior year of high school. After school, I work backstage and construct the set for my schools theatrical productions. My favorite food has to be pepperoni pizza with mint chip ice cream for dessert. I love being outside and am thrilled to be working here this summer! See you all soon!

Hey there I’m Madalynne! I’m an upperclassman at Grand Haven High School and I’m so excited that, for the first time, I get to spend my whole summer at Camp Pendalouan as a counselor. As a kid I spent most summers at various camps making friendship bracelets and playing all camp games so it’s exciting to be able to revisit camp even now. Outside of camp I love to hangout with my friends and spend good quality time with my dog. I can’t wait to meet all you wonderful campers and make some memories this summer. See you on the lake!

Hey! It's me, Seth! This picture to the left is me with a large carrot in Guatemala some time ago. I like carrots, but I have other interests too! I go to school at GVSU and am studying Secondary Education and Social Studies.... a fancy way of saying I want to be a High School teacher; but don't call me Mr. S... that's my father's name. I love camping, swimming, hiking, reading, playing guitar, learning new things, meeting new people, and eating. 2014 will be my third summer at Camp Pendalouan. At camp, I get to do all of the things I love to do, with some of the greatest human beings on earth! I not only get to call other staff members my friends, but campers as well. If you can find a place where you can work, live, and play with hundreds of friends, then you've got yourself a nice gig, so I couldn't be happier! I look forward to making many new friends this summer, reuniting with old ones, and having an awesome time with all of them!

Well, there you have it! We only have one more post of staff bios to share with you all! Parents and grandparents, our sessions are starting to fill and waiting lists are beginning to form (to see what's still available, click here)! Don't have your child get stuck on a waiting list; sign up for Summer Camp today! Call us if you have any questions at (231) 894-4538.

Meet the Summer 2014 Staff: Part 7

Have you been paying attention to the Pendalouan Facebook Page this week? If so, you've seen pictures and updates from our week of Staff Training. Our staff have been learning the ins & outs of camp, practicing their youth development skills and getting camp ready for our Session One campers!

But we still have a few more staff to introduce... so without further ado, meet Nora, Nick, Georgia, Henry and Dalton!

To see the bios of staff we already introduced, CLICK HERE!

Hi everyone! My name is Nora and I am so excited to be coming back to camp for another fun-filled summer! I am originally from the Chicago area, but I am currently going to school at Otterbein University in Columbus, Ohio studying psychology and equine business. This will be my 10th summer at camp, and my 3rd working on staff. I cannot wait to get back to camp, swimming in beautiful Big Blue, playing some crazy camp games and making great memories!

Hey everyone my name is Nick, but everyone here at Pendy calls me Tobin. I’m from good ol' Michigan, and this will be my 10th summer here at camp. I’m a sophomore at Western Michigan University studying Recreation. My favorite activities at camp are leading Sleepy Hollow hikes, scatterball, target sports, and pretty much having a blast everyday. I can't wait to see all the old and new faces here at camp, so until then... keep that Pendy spirit burning and see you this summer.

Hi! My name is Georgia and this will be my third year on staff, but 7th year with the Pendalouan family. I am currently a freshman at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago and plan on continuing my interest in art in the fall. I am so excited to be back at camp, swimming in Big Blue Lake, singing camp songs, and being in the sun. In my free time I love to take photographs, walk by the lake, and watch movies. I am so excited to make new friendships and new memories with you all! I've been counting down the days and I am so excited for Summer 2014 to begin!

Hi everyone! My name is Henry and I'm French! I am a first year in aeronautical engineering at Loughborough University in England. It doesn't rain here as much as people say it does, but it’s not the sunniest place ever, so I really can't wait to be at Pendy - where the sun is hot and the sand is even hotter. I also can't wait to have camp food (which we all love) and of course…… play CAPTURE THE FLAG!! Only a few more weeks until we all experience the best time our lives! See you there! I REALLY cant wait to be back!!!

Hi everyone! My name is Dalton and I will be returning for my second year of working at the best place on Earth, my home away from home, better known as Camp Pendy! This will be my 12th summer spent on the beautiful shores of Big Blue Lake! I am beyond excited to swim, play capture the flag, make arts and crafts, and create the best synchro shows ever!! Each summer at camp is better than the last, so I know this supper will be spectacular and outrageously fun! I can't wait to see all of you this summer!!

Our first summer 2014 campers arrive in just a few days! Is your child registered yet? We already have waiting lists for some of our programs and sessions... so don't delay any longer! Register today to make sure your child gets their first pick of sessions and programs. Spots are still available in our overnight, day and family camps.

Hi! I’m Ricky! This will be my second year as a counselor but my 9th year total at Pendalouan! Outside of camp, my favorite things to do are eat pizza rolls, play guitar, and practice my soccer skills! I wish that I lived in Adventure time and was Jake the Dog. Pendalouan is my favorite place to be in the world and I assure you that my CTF Battle Speeches will get you all prepared for the most legendary game ever! I can’t wait to see you all!

Hi I'm Adi! I'm from Grand Haven and am so excited for camp this summer! As a result of living in a beach town my whole life, I cannot wait to hang out in/near beautiful Big Blue Lake!! I'll be starting my freshman year at college in the fall and am blessed to be able to spend another summer at Pendy, this will be my second as a counselor. Can't wait!

Hey Guys! My name is Gina and I am 20 years young. This is my first year as a camp counselor. I hope we can learn from each other all summer long! But first things: I'm really tall, so you'll have to look up! I am a college student taking a year off to enjoy the world, and all the beautiful gifts within it. My favorite thing in the world to do is run and be outdoors. I also love to swim. In fact, I am pleased to say i'll be one of the lifeguards this year. I can't wait to meet you all this Summer! See you soon!

My name is Julia! I am an adventurer so therefore the great outdoors is where I am the happiest. I'm a college student at Grand Valley, studying nursing because I'm trying to save the people in this world, even if it just a little bit at a time. Camp has always been something I would get so geeked up for as I was younger, so now I'm anxiously waiting to be on the wonderful staff at Camp Pendalouan. This will be my first year and I am so excited!

Our first summer 2014 campers arrive in just over a week! Is your child registered yet? We already have waiting lists for some of our programs and sessions... so don't delay any longer! Register today to make sure your child gets their first pick of sessions and programs.
