Meet the Summer 2014 Staff: Part 5

HERE WE GO! There are only 20 days until our Staff gather on the shores of Big Blue Lake for our week of Staff Training and 27 days until our first Summer 2014 Campers arrive for Session One!

Campers enjoy the Water Mat during Cabin Activity Time!

We'll get the s'more stuff ready... you sit tight and meet Adam, Audrey, Baylee and Lila - 4 returning counselors who we are so glad to have back this summer!

Hello Campers!!! My name is Adam and I am absolutely ecstatic about coming back to Camp this summer for my 3rd year! This summer I will be going into my 4th year at Western Michigan University studying to be an Elementary Teacher. I love being out in the woods, whether it be hunting or fishing or building shelters from sticks and leaves. I also love to tell stories, build campfires, and eat all sorts of food that has been cooked over a fire. I've been counting down the days till summer since snow started falling in December and I can’t wait to see all of you soon!

Hi everyone! My name is Audrey and I can't wait to be back at Pendalouan. This will be my second summer on staff and my fifth all together. I'm graduating from high school this spring and will be attending Miami University in the fall. I'm extremely excited to swim in Big Blue, play Capture the Flag, and have foil dinners this summer. See you at Pendy!

Hey guys! My name's Baylee. I am so excited to be back at Pendy for my 4th summer on staff. There's nowhere I'd rather be than on the shores of Big Blue Lake. I love camp more than I love a lot a things (I mean, where else can you swim, sing silly songs, watch funny skits, and eat the camping delicacy of foil dinners all in one place?). I'm finishing up my sophomore year at Furman University and I couldn't be more excited for this amazing summer to start. See you in a few!

HELLO CAMP PENDALOUAN!!! My name is Lila and I LOVE CAMP. If you're looking at this, chances are we're both counting down the days until we're all back at home on the shores of Big Blue. I could not be more excited to finish off my second year at Pacific University in Oregon to get back to my favorite place in the world. This coming summer will be my tenth at Pendalouan, and my third on staff. I blame the songs, the foil dinners, the beautiful lake, the constant fun, and (most importantly) those crazy campers for the fact that I cannot seem stay away. I'll keep working on my singing voice (remember, even if you can't sing, sing loud) until I get to see the old and new faces I have the honor of spending my summer with at my home-away-from-home, Pendalouan. I hope to see you all there!!!!!

Summer will be here before you know it! Are you registered yet? Waiting lists are starting to form for some of our programs. Register today to make sure your child gets their first pick of sessions and programs. Spots are still available in our overnightday and family camps.

Meet the Summer 2014 Staff: Part 4

Campers enjoying the Sandlot during Evening Cabin Activity Time.
Spring is finally here! We had our last Summer Camp Preview Day of the year and summer is just around the corner! Registrations are coming in, staff are getting trained, and school is almost out!

While we restock the Trading Post (our camp store) and work on opening up the waterfront for summer, why don't you sit back, relax and read these Summer 2014 Staff bios? These four individuals are new to staff, although some have been campers in the past. Please enjoy getting to know Ben, Christie, Stephanie and Alli!

Ben here! As an adventure enthusiast, Camp Pendalouan is my second home. I enjoy making up new ways to have fun and camp gives me the opportunity to share my ideas with others campers and staff who seek excitement! I love creating and listening to music, which is another big part of my magical summers at Pendalouan. I look forward to meeting all the future campers at this summer's sessions!

Hi everyone! My name is Christie and I am from Northern Virginia! I am super excited to start my first year on staff this summer after having been a camper for six years. I look forward to singing songs, eating tinfoil dinners and enjoying amazing Big Blue Lake! When I am not at camp, you can find me swimming, hiking, playing lacrosse or doing something in the great outdoors! I plan to graduate in 2015 and continue on school to become an electrical engineer. I can't wait for this summer and am so excited to begin camp! Hail Pendalouan!

Hi! My name is Stephanie! I am really excited to spend Summer 2014 on the Camp Pendalouan staff. I have been a camp counselor for many years at other camps over the years but this is my first summer with Pendalouan. I graduated high school in the class of 2013 from Grand Haven High school and am now attending Muskegon Community College to get my 2 year degree in Technical Media Broadcasting. Some of my favorite hobbies include, photography, swimming, playing water polo, and running. I look forward to meeting everyone this summer!

Hello! My name is Alli and I am so excited to be spending my first summer at Camp Pendalouan! I grew up going to a camp in Saugatuck, MI and could not be more thrilled to be experiencing Camp Pendy this summer! I am from outside of Chicago and am currently studying Elementary Education at Iowa State University. This summer cannot come fast enough and I cannot wait to spend it at camp making friendships and memories! See you all soon!

Meet the Summer 2014 Staff: Part 3

Another week closer to Summer Camp, which means... more staff bios! This week we are introducing Katie, Mara, Antwan and Margaret. All four of these Summer 2014 staff members at some point in the past few years have gone through our Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program, which introduces 16 year olds to what life is like as a Pendalouan summer camp counselor and teaches basic counseling skills.

Read on to meet these four great Summer 2014 counselors!

Hi friends! My name is Katie. Can you believe it’s almost Summer 2014!? It seems far away now, but before we know it, we’ll be meeting on the deck of the lodge to kick off the most amazing summer EVER! I’m currently studying marketing communications at Columbia College in Chicago, but as much as I love the Windy City, I’m itching to take some Sleepy Hollow hikes & look out at beautiful big blue lake! This will be my 10th summer at Pendy, and I have a hunch it will be the best one yet. I look forward to seeing all of you soon! Until then, continue to keep that Pendalouan spirit alive!

Hey there! I’m Mara, and I’m from Oak Park, IL (right next to Chicago). This will be my 7th summer at Camp Pendy, but my first year on staff! I’m a junior at Oak Park and River Forest High School. I love hiking (I have two dogs who love to hike with me), reading, playing piano, and laughing! I can’t wait to get back on the shores of Big Blue Lake for a summer full of awesome activities like canoeing, trips down to the spooky Sleepy Hollow, and hangin’ with the horses! I’m excited to meet everyone at camp this year. See you soon!

Hello! My name is Antwan and I'm from Muskegon, Michigan. I'm looking forward to my first year on staff and giving campers the same great experiences I was given. My favorite activities at camp are Scatterball and Four Square. I love camp tacos and my favorite camp snack is brownies! I also like the color purple, panda bears, and The Flash. This summer is going to be EPIC! I can't wait for campfires at Pendalouan... my second home!

Hi everyone! My name is Margaret and this will be my third summer working at Pendy! I am so excited to be able to spend another summer on the shores of Big Blue! Right now I am finishing my sophomore year at the College of Wooster in Ohio, where I am majoring in Spanish. I am excited for the snow to melt and for summer to start! See you soon!!!

We can't wait for Katie, Mara, Antwan and Margaret to return to Big Blue Lake in a few weeks for Staff Training. Are your family members signed up for summer camp at Pendalouan? Spots are still available in our overnight, day and family camps. Register today on our website to make sure you don't get stuck on a waiting list!
