Pendalouan's Winter Activities

In the first few decades of our history, YMCA Camp Pendalouan was a one-season facility. Every year, camp would be "woken up" in the late spring and then "shut down" in the late summer. Summer Camp was all we did.

While Summer Camp is still our focus here at Pendalouan, we are very much a four-season camp! The majority of our campers and guests don't make it out to camp in the winter months, so we thought we'd share some of the winter activities that we do when camp is full of snow!

Thank You!

We are happy to announce the successful completion of our 2012 Year-End Campaign!

Because of you and other alumni, parents, and friends, our 2012 Year End Campaign raised $27,085!

Because of this, more kids will be able to experience a week at Pendalouan. These funds are also allowing us to tackle some much needed facility upgrades and program enhancements.

Because we have your support, we can start 2013 with a strong foundation. This could not have happened without our generous alumni, parents, and friends of Pendalouan. Thank you again to those who donated, made calls, and spread the word about our campaign. We continue to accept donations year-round for our Campership Fund, as well as capital projects and programming/facility needs at www.pendalouan.org/donate.

Hail Pendalouan! It’s going to be a great year!
Bruce Spoelman, Executive Director
YMCA Camp Pendalouan

Design the Next Camp Shirt!

Do you want to go down in history as a true fashion icon?
Do you want to be famous in and around Big Blue Lake?
Do you want to have an item you designed sold at the Pendalouan Trading Post?

Then you should submit a shirt design to Camp Pendalouan!

Yup, it's that time of year again! It's when we start putting together designs for things to sell at the camp store. It's a grueling process (so many decisions to make!) and we are always looking for help!

Do you have an idea for a t-shirt or sweatshirt?

Maybe it involves Mr. Zip Zip (the retired postman who lives across the lake) or a Sleepy Hollow Marmot (an elusive creature who lives in Sleepy Hollow)? Or maybe it includes a campfire, the T-Dock or some CTF flags.

There are several ways to submit your design. You can:

Here are two designs we're already considering:

Katie M. (Staff of 2011) included Trixie and Chauncy,
two of Pendalouan's animal legends, in this design

Another one of Katie's designs

We look forward to seeing your designs!
