Meet the Summer 2013 Staff: Part 8

Staff Training starts THIS SUNDAY!

Friday marks the last official day of our Spring Outdoor Education Season. Summer Camp officially begins on Sunday with the start of our week of Staff Training. During our orientation week, our staff will learn about child psychology, how to teach activities, behavior management techniques, and how to promote good character and positive values. It's a long week, and we'll be providing updates throughout the week.

But there are STILL more staff to introduce! Today, we'll meet Nora, Matt, Justin and Gretchen!

Hey everyone! My name is Nora, and I am so exited to be returning to Camp Pendalouan for my 9th summer of swimming, playing games and making new friends! When I'm not at camp you can find me swimming on my high school's synchronized swim team, or reading a good book. I'll be graduating this spring and heading off to Otterbein University in Ohio this fall, but until then, I can wait to see all the new and old faces at camp this summer!

Hey from Indiana! My name is Matt and I am ready for summer. I just finished up my first year studying English at Cedarville University in OH, and I cannot wait to spend my second summer on Big Blue. I love to run, swim, wake up early, raise flags, sing, and make campfires. But more than any of those things, I love safety, so camp is the perfect summer activity for me! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Hail Pendalouan!

Hello Camp Pendy Families! My name is Justin and I will be returning to Camp this summer for my second time. I had a phenomenal experience last year and made some great memories and hope to have just as much fun as before. I am making the long drive all the way from Madison, Wisconsin where I live. I go to school at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse (GO EAGLES!). At school, I am a part of the Men’s Tennis team as well as a Resident Assistant at Eagle Hall. I will also be a Resident Assistant in the upcoming fall when I return for my Junior year of college. I simply cannot wait to see beautiful Big Blue Lake once again and to have some more fun in the sun. See You All Soon!

Hello everyone! My name is Gretchen and I am going to be a junior at Northern Michigan University next fall where I am studying to become an elementary teacher. I love going to school in the UP because I basically have Lake Superior in my backyard! Pretty cool eh? When I’m not in class, you may find me cliff jumping, reading, hiking with my friends, taking pictures, or spending time with my family and our dog. I have been counting down the days until summer, and the day when I can finally trade in my winter boots for a pair of sandals! This will be my 10th summer at Pendalouan, and I can’t wait to see old friends and faces, and meet everyone who is new to camp. I’m looking forward to a summer filled with laughter, capture the flag (go blue!), s’mores, campfires, lots of singing, and being a part of the best summer experience out there. See you all out on Big Blue in just a few short months!

We are excited to have Nora, Matt, Justin and Gretchen back on staff this summer. Have you made sure that you child is signed up for Pendalouan DayOvernight or Family Camps so that they can? Waiting lists are forming for many of our sessions. Register today!
